sid

it´s sid! or mongosid, as caroline likes to call him...

this wall looked a lot different a week ago, the graffiti apparently changes on a daily basis at this place. there were some graffitiartists next to us, who was painting over some pieces that were made yesterday, and tomorrow, some other kid paints over their pieces. and so it goes on.
they were nice enough to wait with the spraying until we got what we came for, though.

sid is the coolest american bulldog! he is soon to be 4 years old, and has his name from sid in the animated movie "ice age", and of course sid vicious, former bass player in the sex pistols

zhanty

so, this is zhanty.
for many of you, shanti is mowglis girlfriend in the jungle book. but not this one, zhanty is the girlfriend of kaja, and she is a rottweiler at her best age.
kaja was nice enough to spend her sunday morning with me in the capitol, bringing along shanty and her new stud, fomle.
zhanty really liked the phone booth we´d found for her, and
luckily for us, she didn´t get a cape and flew away like superman...
in the 90´s, there were over 9000 booths like this in norway, today there are only 420 left.
in 1993, in narvik, they put 20 adults inside one of these, making it a guiness world record!

lille my

this is the coolest pug ever! her name is lille my, and she is 2. and she makes the weirdest sounds!
i had a great day at arne and kjersti, who rapped it up with dinner and dessert...way to go!

Kira

my friend tommy had his birthday yesterday, and his girlfriend and i made this photo for him, without his knowledge.
at his party last night, the police came a couple of times, due to complaints several miles away...it surely was a great night!

Sune

sune was stoked about the previous ones, and wanted to do some more. so we ran out to the nearest kindergarden and made a couple more before dinner!

and now, he´s a sleep on our couch, not paying any attention to the pictures i´m trying to show him...

Sune

it´s summer holiday, and all the dogs has left town. with no one to photograph, sune and i decided to do something on our own. i haven´t done any pictures in a while, and i had almost forgotten how much i enjoy it!
hopefully sune is game a couple of more times this summer....

Alaskan malamute

i had a project going, where i was to do 100 photos in one year.
unfortunately, due to family matters i´ve decided to shut it down.
but that don´t mean i won´t do photos anymore, i´ll just have a little different frequency...

it´s been a while since my last posting, but here´s a photo i did some time ago, a litter with alaskan malamutes from my friend aina´s breed

and as you can see, we had a hard time making they stay in there....

#42

this is millie, the brown lab!
you´d think this photo is taken deep in to the norwegian woods, but actually i have the ring3 ten feet behind me.
thanks to mari and emil for bringing her,
and of course to kalla for the help. some react on the fact that you´re helping me out, in stead of stikking kjeps in my wheels, due to the fact it´s you i´m proving wrong here.
i do appreciate it, buddy

#41

this was actually a photo of circa, the 5 months old rottweiler to the left in this photo. but kjersti and thorbjørn also brought along Ã¥ge (the middle), and koda (the right), so my good friend kalla suggested i´d go for it.
and i can´t say i regret it!
kjersti and thorbjørn did an amazing job keeping these three in place. there were a lot of people passing through.
bikes, runners and several dogs too.
my compliments especially to åge in the middle, who kept eyecontact with me almost throughout the whole shoot.
good dogs!

#40

after almost a month without doing any dogphotos, i finally got to do one.
and this is lizzie!
the forecast said rain, rain, rain and it did rain. all day. except when we started do work...
and the minute we were done, it started again. pretty convenient.
thanks to audun and kristin for their contribution!

after this shot, we went down a couple of stairs and did kalla as a balletdancer: http://fiftyworkers.blogspot.com/

#39

this is belle, randis second dog. she wasn´t to keen on this whole photography thing, but as long as she could stay under this blanket it was ok.
does anyone get star wars vibes?

#38

this is minnie, the kooiker.
kooikers are a breed from holland, and to really understand her, her owner randi is taking a degree in dutch! i´d say that´s commitment...

#37

in addition to backo, chanel is the other dog living on the farm. and she´s the boss!
thanks for a great day, guys! it´s not often i go home with peacockkpoo on my gear!

and kjell, thanks for lunch, dude! you really know what it´s all about!

#36

today i visited marit and kjell.
marit is a fellow doginstructor, and they live at this amazing place with chickens and pigs and ducks and peacocks and of course, a couple of dogs. and this is one of them, backo, the english bulldog.
i´ve never heard such noises! marit tells me he allso snores at night...
though he may look pretty mean in this shot, backo is actually the gentlest dog.
when we photograpehed their other dog, backo looked after there young son, aged two, following him around everywhere.
now, if he were guarding him, or picking up the bananachunks he lost, is another question...

#35

i said i needed to go to the city, but in stead, i went further out the countryside...
there i found this little jack russel sweatheart namned sarah. she is 13 months old, and kind of cute, i´d say.
we tried to put her in an old milkthingy, but she wasn´t all that keen, so we used this table in stead. she really felt her countryside freedom and she ran and ran, that´s why  i needed to put her on something, or she´d be gone in a wiff. and this table did the trick

#34

if krÃ¥ka could choose, she would play with the hose every available minute.
i guess she swallowed several gallons of water for this shoot. and loved it!
come to think of it, i guess it´s the first time i´ve done a photoshoot in my underwear as well! it was water all over the place!

bitches and hose!

#33

at last, this is our own dog, sune!
and what can i say? i´ve used the term mongo earlier, and i guess that´s all i can say here...!

#32

this is foxy. foxy brown. she is a minpin, or a miniature pincher. the first time i met her was this summer at a course we had in trailing.
she did wery well, but all i could see was her ears popping out of the grass!

for the recent photos i´ve done, i haven´t planned anything in advance, i just show up and use what i find. and this time, it was this cool, black couch.
good thing foxy is a couch potato!

#31

the mum of yul brunner and the guys.
this is blenda, an american bulldog. blenda is actually named after a detergent who promise that your laundry stays white no matter how much you wash.
maybe she forgot to wash her ears and face?

anyway, she´s a hero for raising the little piranhas, and she looks good in photos as well!

#30

another puppy from the magnificent seven! though the resemblance to yul brunner isn´t all that, he sure is as cool!
in this photo, though, it either looks like he´s mocking me, he just got a drop of water on his back, or he simply just has braindamage.

#29

this cute little rascal is one of seven. the magnificent seven.
the photo is taken on hilde´s marvellous kitchenfloor, with the rest of the bunch screaming outside the gate, wanting to get in on the action.
everything needs to be licked and chrewed on, and man have they got teeth! they´re like little piranhas. but cute as hell!

#28

at first, nico was in the gras on the right. i guess he noticed that i wasn´t quite happy with those shots, so he started to fool around in the middle of the road.
and it´s like he says, dude is this better, would this do?

#27

yesterday i went over to ingunns house, a fellow doginstructor. she has two dogs, nico and mocca, and this is mocca, the golden retriever.
as i was looking for a place to photograph nico, curious mocca was watching me from this hedge.

i guess this is the easiest photograph of a puppy i´ve ever taken, she was just standing there in her hedge.
mocca the hedgedog!

#26

meet vincent, the black lab.
vincent got his name from a shortmovie by tim burton, vincent. the movie is about little vincent price,  best known for playing dracula several years ago.

when this shoot started, i had no idea what to do. no clue at all.
but after a while, of course i figured i had to tim burtonish it.
this was taken in silje and martins kitchen, and i feel i turned their hole house upside down in the making.
thanks for your patience, guys!
and vincent, you truly are brave.

#25

this photo was taken 30 seconds after max in #24. claudius is a lab at the age of nine, and he´s so done this before. he came in, sat down, tilted his head, got a treat and that was that. see ya!

Thursday, August 12, 2010

#24

this is max, the dachs!
when he´s not busy standing in the backyard like this, he is killing his blanket or his slipper. he has a pink, very masculine,  furry slipper who is murdered 100 times a day.
he has the shortest legs and the longest back i´ve ever seen, but this little body can run! and yell!

#23

this little guy is knÃ¥tten. he is a shih tzu and he´s pretty new. 4 months only...
he is the latest addition to the berntsen family, with boss from #5 as big brother.

knÃ¥tten didn´t want to stay in the basket for very long, so linda had to call on her neighbor for help. linda had his attention towards the camera, and the neighbor put him back in the basket for every picture taken.
thanks, neighbor!

#22

finally, krÃ¥ka got be photographed as well. krÃ¥ka is our third leonberger, mother of trolle in #2.
krÃ¥ka was born on halloween 4 years ago, and she tries to look her scariest.
so if you ever meet kråka in a dark alley, watch out....

#21

this is nanuk, imiq´s(#20) mother. she couldn´t quite understand what all the fuzz was about in these bushes and put on that face...

it´s the middle of the summer, and i do my best to do the pictures these days outside.
when the winter arrives, there will probably be more studiolike photos inside, so i hope the summer will last long this year. it rained like hell today, but we got these shots in between showers...

#20

some time ago, i went to aina´s place in the countryside and had six different photshoots.
it took so long, we didn´t manage to photograph her own dogs.
but today, we went to ytre hakkebakk and did a couple!
this is imiq, alaskan malamut

#19

not only does he climb trees, he sleeps in them as well!

#18

this goodlooking hunk is called taro, a german shepherd.
he might look big and bold, but don´t be fooled....
when i was all set to take this photo, he´d hid under the table!
then again, it´s probably just me, cause when i disappeared a couple of minutes, he gladly came out to check out my equipment.
and peed on it...

#17

this is baltazar. last night, he didn´t want to find himself near trees of any kind, now he tries to climb one!
baltazar is a golden retriever, and he lives with emma from #16.

it´s not that obvious, but if you look closer, it looks like he has to mouths!
the tounge dangles inside the cheeks, making it look there is two foodholes.
i guess it´s the retriever genes in him....

#16

this is emma. a cross between leonberger and golden retriever.
full name, emma leonora retrivia...

at first, i did some plain photos of her, but her owner beate thought they were really boring.
so, we went out on the street and made her pose like the poser she is.
this pose is something she does for treats, and i guess emma did this about hundred times yesterday. she got a little bored at the end, making the tail swag downwords instead of upwords like we wanted it to.
but as we say in norwegian: " that´s flisespikkeri!"
beate and yolla also did an amazing job with this shoot, making emma do excactly what we planned, over and over...
she looks like a little lioness about to jump me!

nah, she doesn´t fool anyone, she´s too cute..

#15

finally! after a month and maybe even longer, with work 24/7, i´ve done some photos again!
it´s now summerholiday, and i only work 8 hours a day. so now i finally have the time to do this. and i´m really happy, because this is my favourite past time...

we went to minnesund yesterday, to photograph two dogs.
one of them didn´t want to play along for this shoot, so our oldest dog, lanis, had do step up.
lanis is a leonberger at 9 years old, and the head of our family. she surely is the coolest, gentlest, bravest, niscest dog ever.
lanis has some allergies and for this summer we decided to shave off all her fur except for the head.
now, you can´t tell in this photo, but i´ll probably do some more photos of her really soon.

how is everyone?

#14

the last photo from saturdays photomarathon.
heero, 3 years old, hovawart.
why he is pointing his tongue at me, i don´t know. maybe he was fed up with posing again and again..!
i wanted to try something different with this shoot, being outside just at sundown.
he managed to block the sun, and i got the colours i wanted.
good job, heero

#13

engla, half bordeux, half something. this is the mother of safira #11. see the resemblance?

me neither...
anyway, she´s a really lovely lady, and i´m quite not sure on wich photo to pick.
i guess the upper one, and think maybe petter and asgjerd will agree, but there is something alienlike in the one beneath.
we´ll see.
anyway i got #13!

#12

fanta is a finnish lapphund. she´s 11 months old and truly is a little rascal.
i got her name wrong all the time, in stead of fanta i called the dog stella. wich is her owner...
a little embarrassing, since she´s currently in my group at the dogschool.
stella is expecting a little kid soon, and she worked great with fanta even though her belly was huge!
best of luck, stella!

#11

this is safira, the little bastard. she is a mix between hovawart and bordeux dogge/somethingsomething. she is 5 months old, and she lives with her mother and father who i also photographed yesterday.
petter did a great job assisting and cooking. he made chickenwings, and i ate like a pig!

#10

this is bix. he is a bouvier de flandres, and he has reached the age of 9.
bouviers usually has a lot of fur, but bix has removed most of his for the summer.
when bix get excited, he barks. and he´s really good at it!
he started off the marathon yesterday,
thanks to ingunn and tommy for bringing him!

#9

yesterday, i went to a friends place to have a little photomarathon. she has a little house in the countryside, and i´d invited 7 dogs for the day.
anne came with odin, a very cool labrador.
he had trained especially for this shoot,  i wanted him to take a morningstretch and look directly in to the camera.
odin is a dude, and as dudes most, he´s in to chicks.
and the first thing he meets when he arrives, is a bitch in heat... ¨

of course he suddenly forgot how to stretch. i guess he even forgot his name a while there.
anne worked up a sweat and did an amazing job, but odin just wasn´t all that available.
who can blame him!
in this picture though, it kind of looks like he rather wants to eat me....
thanks anne and odin!

not #9

this weekend i´d set up 4 different shoots to get back on track.
2 bailed out on me, one made #8, clyde, the guy in red, and the last one is this photo right here.
as Tenecious D so gently puts it  : "it doesn´t matter if it´s good, it only matters if it rocks!".
well, this didn´t turn out quite as i´d planned, and i dont feel it rocks anyone´s socks off. that´s why it didn´t make #9.
not that it´s a bad picture, but i´d really hoped for this to rock.
i´ve agreed with the owner they´ll practice a couple of more weeks, and then we´ll give it another go.
hopefully next time we´ll manage to rock your socks off!

so, this will be continued...

Saturday, May 1, 2010

#8

this is 5 year old clyde. he is half poodle, half border collie, rottweiler, german shepherd, doberman, boxer and labrador.
he lives in oslo with kathy and a cat named dakota.
clyde likes food.
clyde loooves food. if you leave something untended for a second, you can be sure he has eaten it within nanoseconds.
last night he walked our livingroom table to get some treats i´d left in the sofa. i guess it´s the labrador in him...
we discussed the backgroundcolour a little before we started, but as yolla said: black fits everything.
and red suits you, dude!

#7

today, i had the honour to visit this lovely lady. her name is moa and she´s a chinese crested at 4 months.
at first, she didn´t want anything to do with me, but after  a couple of treats and some nice words about her appearance, she was game.
she doesn´t have any fur except the head, legs and tail, and it´s quite an experiance to pet her. the skin is really warm, and covered with really short hair (who is a genetic malfunction in the genetic malfunction) that has to be shaved to meet the chinese crested standard.
she looks awesome though!

every day is a good hairday.
